Job summary

Sight & Sound seeks a Show Automation Technician to support show runs and maintain automation systems. You will operate automation and control consoles, troubleshoot cues, and coordinate with A&E, Media/Art, Deck Chief, and Stage Management.

The role requires hands-on electronics knowledge, live production experience, and flexibility to work show hours. Associates or higher and 1–2 years in electronics troubleshooting and live production preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or better.
  • 1–2 years electronics troubleshooting and live production experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of programming and operation of video media servers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to Show Operations departments through clear and timely communication related to technical production elements.
  • Provide repairs to lighting, projection, special effects, and communications equipment during performances and rehearsals to preserve show quality.
  • Maintain operation of automation consoles, software and equipment during shows and prepare for start/stop of daily operations.
  • Operate all cues from automation consoles, including drops, ramps, and media during shows and rehearsals.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining cue sheets and start-up/shutdown checklists.
  • Communicate show element status with relevant teams during shows and technical challenges.
