Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in Bakersfield is seeking a Newscast Director to coordinate all technical operators for live and recorded productions. The role supervises staff, directs camera/video, and liaises between engineering and production to deliver clean, high-energy newscasts.

You will train camera and CG operators, switch video sources during broadcasts, test equipment, and support news producers to ensure smooth, professional broadcasts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Fluency in English required.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations and production.
• Proficiency with office equipment and broadcast control equipment.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.
• Supervise and assign duties to workers engaged in technical control and production of programs.
• Observe pictures through monitors and direct camera/video staff on composition.
• Serve as liaison between engineering and production departments.
• Work with news producers to deliver a clean and high-energy newscast.
• Train camera and CG operators for live broadcasts.
• Switch video sources with direction during live broadcasts.
• Test equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
