Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) invites married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on its Hershey, PA campus. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of 8–13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include supervision, routines, medications, activities planning, devotions, and budgeting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule, with a path to a placed houseparent

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role, married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
