Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples live on campus in student homes, guiding 8–13 students and supporting their academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines, planning activities, leading devotions, and overseeing budgeting. The role offers housing, meals during duty, benefits, and a path to a placed houseparent position.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting multiple homes on a nine days on / three days off cycle, then transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role.
