Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students.

This role creates a structured, family-like environment to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervision, routines, medications, driving, devotions, and Chapel.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple required; legally married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship of students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Working nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transition to Placed Houseparent living with the same group.
