Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks a full-time Flex Houseparent couple to live on campus and supervise a group of 8–13 students. You will provide care, guidance, supervision and support, creating a structured, family-like home environment focused on academic, emotional, and social development.

The role starts with nine days on duty, then three off, with eventual placement in a long-term home. A competitive package includes housing, meals on duty, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
