Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks a married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. You will reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision and support for a group of about 8–13 students, fostering a structured, family-like environment for academic, emotional and social development.

The role begins with nine days on duty followed by three off, with potential transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group.

Qualifications

Experience working or volunteering with youth.
Two-person couple role: married for at least two years.
Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
No more than three dependent children in the home.
No smoking or weapons on campus; no alcohol on duty.
Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
Valid U.S. driver‘s license and ability to obtain driver certification.
Lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel attendance (proselytizing prohibited).
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models for students.

Responsibilities

Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
Managing household routines and student schedules.
Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
Driving students to activities and engaging in development/recreational activities.
Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
