Job summary

Manhattanville University seeks a Resident Coordinator for First-Year Community to lead a dynamic RA team and foster a strong sense of belonging among first‑year students at Spellman Hall.

The role oversees housing operations, conducts behavior guidance, and coordinates crisis response with Campus Safety. A Master’s degree is preferred and 10‑month, full-time work at the Purchase, NY campus is expected.

Qualifications

• Masters degree preferred with relevant Residence Life experience.
• Demonstrated experience supervising student staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Crisis response and student referral abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise, develop, and evaluate up to 18 undergraduate Resident Assistants (RAs).
• Cultivate an engaged residential population for First-Year Valiants and collaborate with RA team using community development tools.
• Collaborate across Residence Life to manage housing processes (move-in, health and safety inspections, closing).
• Enforce community standards and provide leadership opportunities within the community.
• Serve as a resource and referral agent for students’ academic and social needs.
• Participate in on-call rotation for crisis and campus safety with live-in staff.
• Maintain conduct records and adjudicate student conduct cases.
• Monitor facilities conditions and report maintenance needs with caretaking staff.
• Develop positive working relationships with facilities, safety, and campus partners.
