Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a Park Maintenance worker to supervise care, custody, and cleaning of city parks and recreation facilities. The role requires living in the park if provided and being on call 24 hours on each working day.

The position demands a valid CDL Class B with N endorsement, air brake certification, pesticide applicator certificate, a 2nd grade hoisting/portable engineer's certificate, and forklift certification by probation end.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in minor maintenance of park equipment, machinery and tools.
• Must possess a valid Class "B" CDL with "N" endorsement and air brake certification by end of probation.
• Must possess a current Nebraska Pesticide Applicator's Certificate by end of probation.
• Must possess a 2nd grade hoisting and portable engineer's certificate by end of probation.
• Must possess a forklift operator's certificate by end of probation.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and provides work direction to subordinates engaged in the care, custody, and cleaning of assigned park and recreation facility.
• Monitors activities of park patrons and enforces park regulations; inspects park facilities for vandalism and completes reports.
• Makes reservations for use of park facilities; collects, records and deposits park user fees.
• Removes debris, cleans restrooms, mows grass, and manages snow removal on park property.
• Oversees and participates in minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment; documents maintenance and repairs.
