Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking an Automotive Equipment Operator who will operate heavy construction equipment to support maintenance and park projects across the city. The role includes transporting gear to sites, performing concrete work, and grading land as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A CDL with N endorsement and has prior experience with heavy equipment. The job offers a 40-hour week, health insurance options, pension benefits, and vacation/sick/holiday leave.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or its equivalent preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience operating automotive equipment or four (4) years as Automotive Equipment Operator II.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy, complex equipment on maintenance and construction projects.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites.
• Break up and remove concrete; cut ditches and trenches.
• Load earth, debris, sand, and salt for disposal; grade land and slopes.
• Complete and submit reports of work; inspect fluid levels and perform routine maintenance.
