Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents to reside in on-campus student homes and supervise a group of 8–13 students. You will provide care, guidance, supervision, and development activities to support students’ academic, emotional, and social growth in a family-like setting.

The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, then transitions to living and working with the same student group.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes with a nine-on/three-off schedule; then transitioning to a placed houseparent with a stable group of students.
