Job summary

SmartSource is seeking a Field Service Technician in Carrollton, TX to deliver top-notch IT/AV support for corporate meetings and events. Responsibilities include configuring, testing, transporting and installing equipment, plus on-site troubleshooting and customer service.

The role requires strong IT skills, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to travel for events. It’s a full-time, Monday–Friday position with potential overtime for weekends and overnight travel.

Qualifications

• A strong IT background including computer, printer and copier configuration. Must be proficient in configuring, networking and troubleshooting computers, printers and related hardware.
• Must have a “can-do" attitude, strong customer service focus, and effective communication and people interaction skills as this position interacts directly with our customers.
• Requires the ability to think and work independently, meet deadlines, and have extreme attention to detail.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive company vehicles to area venues for client events
• Must be able to drive a 24” box truck
• Requires loading/unloading of company vehicles. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• As our clients’ events are held seven days a week, this position is a full-time Monday through Friday schedule. Some overtime, weekends and overnight travel is required.
• A desire to continually improve performance and take service to the next level is vital.
• BONUS SKILLS: Proficiency at setting up and operating basic audio visual components, and the ability to troubleshoot and correct operational glitches.
• Experience with “live events” – trade shows, corporate meetings and conferences is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Primary: In-shop configuration, preparation and testing, transport for on-site installation, customer service, and troubleshooting of our computers, software, and related peripherals in corporate events environments and tradeshows.
• Secondary: In-shop configuration, preparation and testing, transport for on-site set up and operation of Audio and Video equipment including: microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, video screens, projectors, video switchers, large displays and related peripherals in tradeshow and corporate events environments.
