Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking on-call Guest Services Event Staff for the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. You will be the primary point of contact for guests, delivering direct service across ushering, ticket taking, suite staff, and door guard duties.

This part-time, per-event role pays an hourly rate of $13.00 and offers benefits for part-time roles, including a 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. The position remains open until November 13, 2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must function well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Customer service experience and strong communication skills.
• Outgoing, friendly personality and comfort working with the public.
• Able to communicate clearly and work independently or in a team with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to all guests.
• Greet and scan tickets as guests enter the building.
• Greet and usher guests to their seats.
• Provide directional assistance throughout the facility.
• Control and monitor access to restricted areas during events.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for the Iowa Events Center.
• Report actual or suspected violations to your supervisor.
• Complete incident reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure emergency exits are clear and assist guests with special needs.
• Serve as part of the emergency evacuation team when needed.
• Move between positions as event needs dictate.
• Distribute materials to guests as required.
• Follow all event procedures and safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Guest Services Manager or Supervisor.
