Job summary

WTVG, a Gray Media station in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a skilled Technical Media Producer to execute live broadcasts and manage master control operations, ensuring FCC compliance and seamless streams.

This dual-capacity role requires hands-on experience with control room automation, editing, and collaboration with producers to deliver high-quality local news under pressure. The position also involves equipment troubleshooting, monitoring multiple feeds, and pre-production tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in television production or live broadcasting.
• Ability to multitask under deadlines in a fast-paced live environment.
• Strong communication with editorial, engineering, and production teams.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ross Overdrive control room automation during live broadcasts.
• Edit daily lineups, weather cuts, promos using Edius.
• Monitor OTA and digital feeds to ensure uninterrupted delivery.
• Manage programming logs, regional ad insertions, and EAS operations.
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and anchors to maintain pacing and quality.
• Ensure FCC compliance, log transmitter activity, monitor captions, and resolve feed issues.
• Assist with pre-production: graphics, lighting cues, scripts review.
• Troubleshoot and report hardware/software issues with engineering.
