Job summary

KWES TV, part of the TEGNA family, seeks an IT/Broadcast Technician to maintain and troubleshoot IT and broadcast systems, ensuring high-quality content delivery. The role involves supporting both IT and broadcast hardware, with expectation to handle live and recorded broadcasts efficiently.

The ideal candidate has an IT degree or 1–3 years in a broadcast/IT setting, strong knowledge of broadcast equipment, and solid problem-solving abilities. On-site work in Midland, TX is required.

Qualifications

  • A degree in IT or 1-3 years of experience in a broadcast/IT environment.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast equipment and IT systems.
  • Ability to diagnose hardware, software, and network issues quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Support IT and Broadcast Systems: Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize IT systems, servers, networks, and broadcast equipment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot broadcast systems: ensure top-quality audio/video during live or recorded broadcasts.
  • Install and configure equipment: manage and install broadcast equipment like cameras, servers, routers, switches, encoders, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with digital streaming team to ensure smooth hardware and software operations.
  • Respond to technical issues under pressure to minimize downtime during live broadcasts.
