Job summary

Prince William County Government seeks a Litter Crew Supervisor to lead roadside litter collection and grounds maintenance at county facilities in Manassas, VA. The role requires coordinating staff, contractors, and volunteers, while ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher and at least five years of progressive supervisory experience in outdoor operations, with strong English communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of full-time experience supervising operational work crews.
• Experience in litter collection, grounds maintenance, or solid waste collection preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive County vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee roadside litter collection and grounds maintenance across county roadways and facilities.
• Supervise staff including scheduling, direction, safety meetings, time/leave approvals, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate contracted litter collection and manage vendors and invoices.
• Coordinate volunteers and inmates performing community service.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment; track maintenance and inventory.
• Document performance standards and operational data; ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Develop and implement processes to improve teamwork and efficiency.
• Respond to inquiries from other departments, agencies, and the public.
