Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Legal Assistant to join the Litigation Team within the Healthcare Business (HCB). You will perform paralegal and administrative tasks across the litigation life cycle, handling matter intake, subpoenas and NSA Act matters to support in-house attorneys.

In this role you will coordinate discovery, manage document collection, track deadlines, arrange limited travel, process reimbursements, and prepare and distribute litigation reports.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of legal support experience with subpoena processing and small claims litigation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the litigation matter intake process, including opening and closing matters in the Legal Tracker billing system, workflow coordination, and assignment distribution for all incoming legal matters.
• Independently manage third-party subpoenas and requests for records from state/government agencies, and other requestors to securely provide sensitive data and responsive documents, in accordance with applicable state laws and company policies.
• Provide comprehensive support to in-house attorneys in managing cases related to No Surprise Bill Act (NSA) along with other administrative proceedings.
• Coordinate the discovery process by issuing legal holds, managing document and data collections, tracking deadlines and deliverables and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel to support case development and legal strategy.
• Independently provide administrative support under limited guidance, including coordinating limited travel arrangements, processing expense reimbursements, and preparing and managing check requests associated with settlements and reimbursements.
• Prepare and distribute litigation matter reports to support case management and other reporting needs.
• Lead or contribute to special legal projects and initiatives as needed.
• Demonstrate analytical ability, good judgment along with great organizational skills in managing litigation matters.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
