Job summary

CGS Federal, based in Boston, MA, is seeking an entry-level Paralegal to support a team of United States Attorneys. You will draft and file legal documents using ECF, prepare trial notebooks, and assist with discovery and case management.

The role requires a paralegal certificate or JD or enrollment in ABA-approved law school, with at least one year of study, plus familiarity with legal research tools and eDiscovery. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
• One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
• Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience is required; trial experience helpful.
• Automated litigation support experience valued; basic legal knowledge and ability to perform research with Lexis/Westlaw.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and familiarity with standard computer applications and eDiscovery resources.

Responsibilities

• Collects court ordered restitutions and fines of criminal and civil defendants.
• Drafts legal documents and files them via ECF.
• Prepares garnishments, liens, and other legal process documents.
• Sends demand letters, files liens, and submits subpoenas.
• Manages and tracks collection activity in an internal database.
• Supports AUSAs in Monetary Penalties Unit coordination.
• Performs legal research and compiles case materials.
