Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an Entry-Level Paralegal to support US Attorneys under supervision. You will draft legal documents, file with the Electronic Court Filing system (ECF), prepare garnishments and subpoenas, and help with discovery and trial preparation.

The role requires paralegal training or related legal study, strong written and oral communication, and solid computer skills to manage case materials and maintain calendars.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study
• One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience related to the task order; trial experience is helpful
• Basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation; familiarity with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and related software
• Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery concepts
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality work

Responsibilities

• Collects court ordered restitutions and fines of defendants
• Drafts legal documents and files them via ECF
• Prepares garnishments, liens, and other legal documents
• Sends demand letters and subpoenas; maintains case databases
• Provides trial preparation assistance to AUSAs and compiles trial notebooks
• Manages case files and calendars; coordinates with AUSAs
• Performs routine document center support and filing tasks
• Assists with discovery production to defense counsel
• Organizes case materials using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing tools
