Job summary

Demesmin & Dover PLLC seeks a capable paralegal with experience in litigation to prepare pleadings, organize exhibits, and file documents in federal and state courts. You will manage discovery, coordinate depositions, and draft appellate materials while interfacing with clients.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to deadlines, and knowledge of court rules. This on-site position is based in our Fort Lauderdale office and involves standard office hours.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of working experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
• Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).
• General Litigation Experience, preferably in federal court.
• Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda.
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• E-file court documents in federal and state court.
• Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
• Draft and serve summons.
• Coordinate depositions.
• Prepare deposition and hearing binders and exhibits.
• Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court.
• Interfacing with clients to keep them apprised of status and obtain discovery documents.
• Gather relevant information from various sources.
• Liaise between attorneys and third parties including co-counsel and courts.
