Job summary

Demesmin and Dover PLLC. seeks a Litigation Paralegal to back our trial team. You will coordinate all trial details, assist during the litigation process, conduct interviews, perform legal research, file documents, and attend trials to ensure smooth proceedings.

The role requires an associate degree or paralegal certification, 2+ years in legal services, and strong organization. On-site work in Fort Lauderdale, with background checks and E-Verify compliance described.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
• At least 2+ years of working experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
• Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).
• General Litigation Experience, preferably in federal court.
• Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda.
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• E-file court documents in federal and state court.
• Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
• Draft and serve summons.
• Prepare deposition and hearing binders and exhibits.
• Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court.
• Interfacing with clients to keep them apprised of the status of their case and to obtain documents needed for discovery.
• Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
• Liaise between the attorneys and internal/external third parties, including co-counsel, counsel for defendants, and the courts.
