Job summary

Earned is seeking a reliable Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys from intake through resolution in Walnut Creek, CA. This full-time, non-exempt role requires strong organization, detail-orientation, and dedication to client service.

You will draft pleadings, manage discovery, review documents, and assist with mediations. A paralegal certificate and 2–4 years’ experience in litigation are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a expanding firm.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program and HS diploma or higher.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Working knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and deadlines.
• Experience with e-filing systems and state court e-filing portals.
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with litigation support or case management software preferred.
• Advanced Excel and numerical skills for reviewing, calculating, and reconciling compensation, hours, and timekeeping.
• Team-oriented; able to function effectively in a busy environment.
• Travel up to 10%; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and subpoenas.
• Calendar and track deadlines, hearings, depositions, and statutes of limitations.
• Manage all phases of discovery; draft responses to interrogatories and requests for production.
• Organize, review, and summarize documents and transcripts.
• Assist with mediation and hearing preparation, including binders and case summaries.
• Meet with clients, attorneys, and witnesses to discuss case details.
• Perform legal and factual research, including public records searches.
• Review and proofread documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Organize and maintain case files in electronic systems.
• Review payroll and timekeeping records to support damages calculations.
• Other duties as assigned.
