Job summary

Leidos in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Paralegal for its Litigation Support Team at a DOJ office. The role supports attorneys with discovery, motions and trial materials, handling depositions, and document control in a fast paced environment.

The candidate should have a paralegal certificate or be enrolled in ABA-law studies with at least one year completed, plus ≥1 year of litigation experience and solid legal research skills with Lexis/Westlaw.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or ABA-law school enrollment with ≥1 year completed.
• ≥1 year of litigation paralegal or project experience.
• Basic legal knowledge and ability to cite motions/memos.
• Proficiency with Lexis/Westlaw for basic research.
• Familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for attorneys in discovery and motions.
• Summarize depositions and maintain case files; perform simple legal research.
• Index and track documents, exhibit materials for depositions and trial.
• Assist attorneys in courtroom and review documents for relevance and privilege.
• Compile documents for FOIA, production requests, inquiries and related tasks.
