Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Florida’s largest full-service civil litigation firm, seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its Tampa office. This is an in-office role with no remote work option.

Qualified candidates must be a Florida Registered Paralegal or Certified Paralegal, or hold a paralegal degree/certificate from an ABA-approved program, and have at least 2 years of relevant experience in personal injury and insurance defense. Trial experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience in personal injury and insurance defense.
• FRP or CP registration or ABA-approved paralegal degree/certificate.
• Proven ability to bill time contemporaneously per firm/client guidelines.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in case management from inception through trial.
• Organize, analyze, and review court documents and case materials.
• Coordinate discovery and prepare related responses and documentation.
• Conduct legal research as needed.
• Prepare subpoenas, exhibits, trial binders, and other pre-trial materials.
• Accurately and timely enter billable time daily.

Job description

Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Florida’s largest full-service civil litigation firm, continues to grow and is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its Tampa office.

Please note that this is a fully in-office position and does not offer a remote or hybrid work arrangement.

Qualified candidates must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or Certified Paralegal (CP), or hold a paralegal degree or certificate from an ABA-approved program. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant paralegal experience, with a strong background in insurance defense litigation and personal injury. Trial experience is a plus.

Prior billing experience is preferred; all candidates must bill their time contemporaneously in accordance with firm and client billing guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting attorneys in case management from inception through trial
• Organizing, analyzing, and reviewing court documents and case materials

• Conducting legal research as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of litigation paralegal experience and strong familiarity with personal injury cases
• Insurance defense background preferred
• Prior billing experience with contemporaneous time entry required
• Must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or Certified Paralegal (CP), or hold a paralegal degree or certificate from an ABA-approved program
• Strong understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and e-filing procedures
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
