Job summary

Orionplacement seeks an experienced paralegal for a fully on-site role in downtown San Diego. You will support attorneys through all stages of civil litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial, while drafting pleadings and organizing case documents.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience, a paralegal certificate or equivalent, and familiarity with San Diego courts. A four-year degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience with San Diego courts and local filing procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all stages of civil litigation, from case opening through discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Draft, prepare, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other legal documents.
• Manage document productions and assist with drafting and responding to written discovery.
• Review, organize, summarize, and maintain case documents and evidence.
• Prepare deposition page and line summaries and organize materials for attorney review.
• Maintain litigation calendars, court deadlines, hearing dates, and case schedules.
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, meetings, and trials with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
• Conduct factual investigations and gather relevant case information.
• Prepare witness lists, exhibit lists, trial materials, and other litigation support documents.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files.
