Job summary

Orion Placement in Sacramento, CA is seeking a litigation paralegal with 1+ years of experience to support attorneys through discovery, motions, and trial preparation.

You'll draft pleadings and discovery responses, review and summarize materials, perform legal research, coordinate with witnesses, and manage deadlines and budgets. A paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Conduct legal and factual research and prepare clear summaries for attorneys.
• Assist with client interviews, expert witness coordination, and factual investigations.
• Manage case files, deadlines, documentation, and litigation workflow.

Job Description

• Prepare jury instructions, trial binders, exhibits, and other trial materials.
• Assist attorneys with preparation for and attendance at trials.
• Monitor case status, legal fees, litigation budgets, and project deadlines.
• Help keep attorneys and matters moving by proactively following up on deadlines, filings, and required information.
• Maintain confidential and sensitive information with a high level of professionalism.
• Assist with office procedures, special projects, and other litigation support needs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure, pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings.
• Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
• Strong judgment, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Trial preparation experience is highly valued.
