Job summary

King & Siegel LLP seeks an experienced paralegal with 3+ years of substantive civil litigation to join our team, supporting 1-2 attorneys across an active California docket of 25-35 matters in state and federal courts. You will manage deadlines, organize pleadings, coordinate discovery, and keep clients updated on case status.

The position is open to candidates in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Sacramento.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a litigation paralegal.
• Excellent MS Office skills, incl. advanced Word features.
• Familiarity with California state and federal filing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Calendar and track deadlines using legal calendaring software.
• Prepare, review, and organize pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
• Coordinate service of process, subpoenas, and document productions.
• Communicate with clients to collect documents and provide case status updates.
• Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure documents are properly named and filed.
• Prepare legal documents from firm templates and populate fact sections from case records.
• Coordinate with vendors including court reporters, process servers, and records services.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their work and cases. You will manage deadlines, coordinate discovery, communicate with clients, and ensure cases move forward without friction.

• Prepare, review, and organize pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
• Coordinate service of process, subpoenas, and document productions
• Communicate with clients to collect documents and provide case status updates
• Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Maintain organized case files and ensure documents are properly named and filed
• Prepare legal documents (complaints, discovery, mediation briefs) from firm templates and populate fact sections from case records
• Coordinate with vendors including court reporters, process servers, and records services
• Assist with trial preparation as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

• 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including knowledge of styles, tables, and other advanced Word skills
• Experience with California state and federal court filing procedures
• Familiarity with e-filing systems (InfoTrack, PACER)
• Familiarity with AI use in legal practice, such as using AI to populate shell documents or update templates to match a matter
• Experience with legal calendaring software
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines across 30+ cases simultaneously
• High attention to detail
• Reliable, professional, and responsive

Preferred:

• Paralegal certificate
• Proficiency in a language other than English
• Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience

Work Location:

This position is open to candidates in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Sacramento. Initial training will be conducted in-office. Following training, hybrid or remote arrangements are available depending on location.
