Job description

Job Description

This role involves investigating complex, represented claims, typically including uninsured or underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims in single or multi-car accidents, and moderate to major claims. The individual may also handle complex CPL claims or specialized claims, such as business interruption, loss of income, or E&O policies. Responsibilities include taking recorded statements, resolving loss of use claims, making payments, and negotiating or referring bodily injury issues that cannot be resolved.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service Expert: Demonstrate care, empowerment, and restoration by being compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each claim, leading with empathy.
  2. The Investigator: Independently investigate casualty claims by reviewing damages and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  3. The Effective Communicator: Use phone, email, and video chat to assist customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process, respecting their communication preferences.
  4. The Negotiator: Evaluate and negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants, employing legal and business standards and tactics for challenging situations.
  5. The Problem Solver: Utilize tools like estimate platforms and job aids to efficiently handle claims in a fast-paced environment, applying critical thinking skills.
  6. The Recorder: Ensure financial protection by executing policies accurately and maintaining clear records in the claims system, completing timely documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience handling 3rd Party Bodily Injury claims.
  • 2-5 years of GA claims experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with effective time management.
  • Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage, and liability determination.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of claims evaluation tools and platforms.
Remote Work Details

This is a permanent remote, home-based position within the U.S., excluding California, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Requirements include a dedicated home office, minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up, and appropriate workspace and seating.
