Job summary

Orion Placement in Troy, Michigan is seeking an experienced litigation support professional for a full-time role on a respected trial-driven team.

You will work directly with trial attorneys on civil litigation and insurance defense matters, handling filings, calendar management, document preparation, dictation, and exhibits with attention to detail in a collaborative, professional environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of legal support experience in litigation or insurance defense.
• Prior experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or litigation support.
• Familiarity with Michigan court procedures and e-filing preferred.
• Strong typing, document preparation, and administrative skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys throughout active civil litigation and insurance defense matters.
• File pleadings, motions, and documents through Michigan e-filing systems.
• Maintain attorney calendars for court deadlines, hearings, and trials.
• Prepare and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery materials, and case documents.
• Transcribe dictation and produce accurate attorney correspondence and case documents.
• Compile, organize, and label exhibits for motions, depositions, and trials.
• Schedule depositions, client appointments, and court appearances.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Help attorneys stay ahead of deadlines in a busy litigation environment.
