Job summary

Orion Placement in Troy, Michigan is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support experienced attorneys on insurance defense and civil matters. You will draft and file pleadings, manage calendars, and coordinate with clients and vendors in a collaborative, professional environment.

This on-site role requires 1+ year of litigation support, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication. Experience reviewing medical records is preferred and helps advance case preparation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of litigation support experience in a law firm.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing legal documents and managing litigation deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal office software.
• Experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records is preferred.
• Insurance defense experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from case opening through resolution.
• Draft, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and coordinate court filings while ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and court procedures.
• Maintain attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, case files, and document management systems.
• Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, meetings, and client communications.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, medical providers, and vendors.
• Assist with obtaining, organizing, reviewing, and summarizing medical records when needed.
• Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, and other case materials for hearings and trial preparation.
• Help ensure matters progress efficiently by tracking deadlines and providing proactive litigation support.
