Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, a Downtown Dallas-based litigation firm, seeks an experienced legal assistant to join the team. You will support attorneys by drafting and proofreading correspondence, managing files, and keeping calendars organized in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of litigation secretarial experience, familiarity with federal/state filings, and proficiency with iManage and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, staff, and clients.
• Experience with federal and state filings.
• 2+ years litigation secretarial experience.
• Knowledge of iManage and Outlook is a plus.
• Must successfully pass a background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review legal correspondence, proofreading for grammar and formatting.
• Prepares and collects conflict of interest checks, opens new files and maintains client files.
• Maintains attorneys’ calendars with important dates.
• Familiar with State and Federal court filings, including electronic filings.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and complete them with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
