Job summary

shook-careers is seeking a Docketing Specialist to provide multi-jurisdictional calendaring and docketing services for litigation teams. The role requires deep knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and experience with docketing software such as BEC or similar systems.

The candidate will review documents, enter deadlines, and prepare schedules and reports, while maintaining documentation and supporting team members.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules and procedures and how to conduct electronic research of court dockets.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with high quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documents for relevant dates and enters deadlines into the docketing system.
• Creates, reviews and distributes calendar and case reports.
• Responds to requests from litigation team members regarding docketed events and deadlines.
• Works independently to recognize docketing anomalies and researches to resolve them.
• Assists in investigating docket issues and implementing solutions to mitigate future issues.
• Maintains documentation for docketing processes, guidelines and practices.
• Provides back-up support to Client Service Specialists and Legal Operations Specialists.
• Stays abreast of industry best practices and docketing systems to present options to enhance the practice.
