We are an executive legal recruiting firm representing a premier, boutique civil litigation defense firm seeking to add 2–3 talented Litigation Attorneys to their growing team. This firm offers a rare combination in legal practice: high-stakes, sophisticated healthcare defense work paired with a supportive, collegial culture that respects your life outside of work.
Unlike traditional defense firms that reward high-stress, 2,000+ billable hour grinds, this firm sets a manageable 1,800 annual billable expectation and actively focuses on long-term attorney retention, mentorship, and succession planning toward partnership.
The practice has a highly developed healthcare defense platform representing hospitals, healthcare providers, nursing facilities, and other healthcare organizations in complex litigation, professional liability, and regulatory and administrative matters.
The practice regularly handles complex matters involving healthcare professionals, healthcare systems, and other institutional clients, with litigation extending through hearings, depositions, and trials. Its attorneys have experience defending high-stakes claims involving catastrophic injuries, professional liability, and complex healthcare issues.
Required:
Ideal Background: Plaintiff-side litigation experience will also be considered for attorneys with strong transferable litigation skills.
Nice to Have:
This is intended to be a long-term opportunity, not simply a stepping stone.
The team invests in developing attorneys, provides access to experienced mentors, and works to connect attorneys with strong client relationships. Attorneys who want to build their own practice have an opportunity to develop a book of business, with origination compensation and a path toward future partnership and succession.
The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 – $200,000. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Structured bonus upon reaching the 1,800 billable hour threshold, discretionary bonuses at higher performance marks, and 10% origination credit on brought-in business.
