Job summary

Gpac has partnered with a Madison law firm seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join their growing practice. This role offers challenging work, collaboration, and a clear path to partnership.

The ideal candidate will handle trust and estates litigation when possible, but strong civil litigation skills and a desire to develop in this area are essential. You will manage matters from strategy through resolution and represent clients in diverse civil cases.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the Wisconsin state bar.
• 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience in civil litigation; trust and estates preferred but not required.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from initial strategy through resolution.
• Represent clients in trust, estate, probate, and other civil litigation matters.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Develop effective litigation strategies based on the unique needs of each case.
• Advise clients on complex legal issues and keep them informed throughout the process.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional legal representation.
