Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar, or eligibility for admission.
5+ years of litigation experience preferred (judicial clerkship experience valued).
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Interest in developing long-term legal practice and client relationships in the Madison community.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Assist partners in the representation of clients in a variety of civil litigation matters
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs
Participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and preparing deposition outlines
Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as appropriate
Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and client communication
Maintain strong relationships with existing firm clients through responsive and high-quality service
Participate in professional networking and business development activities to cultivate new client relationships
Stay current on legal developments relevant to litigation practice
