Role Description

The Litigation Attorney will manage a caseload involving civil litigation matters, including medical malpractice defense, commercial disputes, and liability claims. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for hearings and trials. The attorney will appear in state and federal courts, communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, and develop case strategy in collaboration with firm partners and colleagues. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Downtown Orlando, requiring regular courtroom attendance, in-office collaboration, and adherence to deadlines and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in civil Law, including familiarity with medical malpractice, commercial litigation, liability, and procedural rules.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, including dispositive motions, discovery motions, and pretrial applications.
• Experience appearing in Courts, managing hearings, status conferences, and trial‑related proceedings.
• Background in conducting Trials, including trial preparation, examination of witnesses, and presentation of evidence.
• Skill in taking and defending Depositions of parties, experts, and fact witnesses, and using deposition testimony strategically.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities, with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage client relationships.
• Prior civil litigation or insurance defense experience is highly preferred.
