Role Description

This is a litigation attorney role that may be structured as part-time, full-time, or contract, depending on the needs of the firm and the candidate. The position is on-site in Tampa, FL. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling all phases of litigation in medical malpractice and workers’ compensation matters, including client interviews, case evaluation, and legal research. The attorney will draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents, as well as take and defend depositions, attend hearings and in some instances manage cases. The role also involves appearing in court for hearings, mediations, and trials, negotiating settlements, collaborating with support staff and other attorneys, and maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the lifecycle of each case.

Compensation can be commensurate with production and collected fees.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with experience or interest in medical malpractice and workers’ compensation.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and argue Motions and other substantive legal filings.
• Experience appearing in Courts, including handling hearings, mediations, and case management conferences.
• Background in litigating Trials, including evidence presentation, witness examination, and courtroom advocacy.
• Proficiency in taking and defending Depositions, including
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the Florida Bar (or eligibility for admission).
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and organization.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior litigation experience in any federal context or employment law, commercial litigation is preferred.
• Be ready to hit the ground running into cases.
• Desire to take lead and manage cases and litigation strategy.
