Responsibilities

• Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with clients' objectives and needs.
• Oversee discovery, depositions, and other fact-development activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, co-counsel, and other parties.

My client is a well established Nashville-based firm serving businesses, entrepreneurs, individuals, and organizations throughout Tennessee and across the country.

They are seeking a talented Litigation Attorney with experience in commercial litigation, business litigation, and/or life sciences litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in complex dispute resolution, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage litigation matters effectively from inception through resolution.

This is an opportunity for an attorney to work on sophisticated legal matters, develop creative litigation strategies, and represent clients in a range of complex commercial and business disputes. Candidates with experience handling life sciences-related litigation are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex commercial, business, and/or life sciences litigation matters.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies tailored to clients’ business objectives and legal needs.
• Manage written discovery, document review, depositions, and other fact-development activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, co-counsel, and other relevant parties.
• Evaluate legal risks, analyze potential exposure, and advise clients regarding litigation strategy and resolution options.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality legal services and achieve favorable client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the applicable state bar.
• Experience in commercial litigation, business litigation, complex civil litigation, and/or life sciences litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery requests, and dispositive motions.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and exercise sound independent judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to case management and problem-solving.

Preferred Experience

• Experience handling complex commercial disputes, business conflicts, contractual disputes, or other sophisticated civil litigation matters.
• Exposure to life sciences litigation, including disputes involving pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other life sciences companies.
• Experience with depositions, motion hearings, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
• A demonstrated ability to develop effective litigation strategies and manage matters with increasing levels of responsibility.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $150k-250k base. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
