You will manage matters from intake to resolution, draft pleadings and discovery, take depositions, communicate with clients and opposing counsel, and work with experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the applicable state.
• Experience in commercial, business, or general liability litigation.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution, including trial when applicable.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
• Draft and respond to written discovery, take and defend depositions, and assist with expert witness preparation.
• Develop case strategies, evaluate legal risks, and identify opportunities for favorable settlements.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and other litigation proceedings.
• Analyze contracts, insurance policies, liability issues, damages, and other evidence relevant to disputed matters.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties throughout the litigation process.
• Maintain organized case files, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop practical, cost-effective legal strategies that align with client objectives.

My client, a well respected Chattanooga based law firm, is looking for a motivated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following practice areas: commercial litigation, business litigation, construction litigation, insurance defense, or general liability.

This is an opportunity to handle a variety of litigation matters, take an active role in case strategy and development, and work collaboratively with experienced attorneys in a professional legal environment.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar.
• Prior litigation experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Commercial litigation
• Business litigation
• General liability litigation
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative legal team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling cases through multiple stages of litigation, from pleadings and discovery through mediation, settlement, or trial.
• Deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience.
• Familiarity with insurance coverage, construction disputes, contractual claims, or complex commercial matters, depending on practice area.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to case management and problem-solving.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $140k-200k base.
