Litigation Associate (Mid-Level) - Columbus, OH

Columbus, OH

Ice Miller is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join our Litigation Practice Group, preferably in our Columbus office. If you're looking to be part of a team who cares about your career and where your work makes a meaningful impact on clients, the practice, and your colleagues, we’d love to hear from you. Ideal candidates will have three (3) to five (5) years of experience, a strong interest in leading cases, managing teams, and contributing to strategic case development and execution.

In this position, you will:

• Handle all aspects of complex litigation, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery strategy, motion practice, depositions, trial and/or oral advocacy.
• Manage business disputes in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels, including coordinating experts, overseeing large case dockets, and leading fact investigations (interviews and records review).
• Draft and develop litigation strategies, pleadings, briefs, and motions, and engage in strategic depositions and witness preparation.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, supporting their professional development and training.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, including general counsels, executives, boards, and other key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners on business development and client relationship management, including participating in pitches, contributing to presentations and proposals, and supporting ongoing client engagement, with a clear path for advancement and active encouragement to grow a practice.

Requirements:

• At least three (3) years of experience practicing law in a law firm
• Active law license in Ohio
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills and business judgement
