Job summary

Am Law 200 Firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 4–5 years of experience in complex commercial or federal litigation to support its Managed Care and ERISA Litigation practice in New York City or Stamford, CT.

The role offers exposure to sophisticated disputes involving employee benefits, managed care, healthcare, and related commercial matters, with a hybrid work environment and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in complex commercial or federal litigation.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience at a large law firm or in a comparable sophisticated litigation practice.
• Admission to practice in New York state and federal courts is required.
• Experience with ERISA benefits litigation, managed care, medical provider disputes, or insurance coverage litigation is a plus, but not required.
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex litigation matters in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings.
• Represent clients in disputes involving managed care, ERISA, employee benefits, healthcare, and insurance-related matters.
• Draft substantive motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Manage discovery, including document production and depositions.
• Participate in court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
• Work collaboratively with experienced litigators on sophisticated disputes.
• Assume meaningful responsibility for case management and litigation strategy.
