Job summary

Clausen Miller P.C. is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our first-party property, third-party liability and general casualty defense practice.

This fully remote role offers meaningful courtroom and client exposure within a collaborative national team handling sophisticated insurance matters. Tampa-area candidates may work in our Tampa office; licensed Florida attorneys with 1–3 years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Active license and good standing with the Florida Bar.
• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred, 1L attorneys with exposure will be considered.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Careful attention to detail and sound legal judgment.
• Ability to manage matters independently while contributing to a team.

Responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with clients and develop relationships over time.
• Advise clients on case status, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Prepare legal memoranda, briefs, and status reports.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft motions and engage in motion practice.
• Appear in court for hearings and other proceedings.

Position details

This is a fully remote position, although Tampa-area candidates have the option to work in our Tampa office.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred; first-year attorneys with prior civil litigation exposure or comparable experience will also be considered

Working under partner supervision, the associate will handle matters from initial investigation through trial. Day-to-day work includes:
