Job summary

Clausen Miller P.C. seeks a Litigation Associate to join its growing Texas practice in Austin, San Antonio, or nearby communities. The role focuses on first-party property, professional liability, and general casualty defense, offering hands-on litigation experience with direct partner mentorship.

You will manage cases from investigation through resolution or trial, engaging in depositions, hearings, and client interaction in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred; first-year attorneys with civil litigation exposure will be considered.
• Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Strong writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Self-starter who thrives in an independent and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in litigation matters from initial investigation through resolution or trial.
• Communicate with clients and develop professional relationships.
• Manage written discovery and prepare strategic analyses of cases.
• Draft and argue motions and participate in motion practice.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Appear in court for hearings, mediations and arbitrations; assist with trial prep and post-trial motions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney who wants early, hands-on litigation experience—including depositions, hearings, and direct client interaction - while working closely with experienced partners in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

The position offers a flexible hybrid or remote work arrangement.

What You’ll Do

With direct partner mentorship, you will take an active role in managing cases from initial investigation through resolution or trial, including:

• Communicating directly with clients and developing strong professional relationships
• Managing written discovery and preparing strategic case analyses
• Drafting and arguing motions and engaging in motion practice
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Appearing in court and participating in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Assisting with trial preparation and post-trial motions, including appeals

What We’re Looking For

• Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• 1-3 years of litigation experience preferred; first-year attorneys with prior civil litigation exposure or other relevant experience will also be considered
