A well-established law firm in New Jersey is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation, as well as bankruptcy matters. Duties:
- Manage a diverse caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including business disputes and real estate litigation
- Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings (Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and occasional Chapter 11)
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda
- Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Appear at court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations
- Develop litigation strategies and advise clients on legal options and risk mitigation
- Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff while also working independently
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Stay adaptable to expanding legal practice areas and case types
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on litigation experience, with exposure to bankruptcy and business litigation
- Proven ability to manage litigation files from inception through resolution
- Courtroom and deposition experience highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases efficiently
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar (mandatory)
- Admission to the New York Bar is a plus
