Job summary

Salida del Sol Elementary in Yuma, AZ is seeking a Literacy and Assessment Tech to support students’ reading development from kindergarten through third grade. Under the direction of the Principal, you will assist with literacy instruction and progress monitoring.

You will follow lesson plans, collaborate with teachers to identify students’ needs, maintain records, assist data collection, and help with literacy software and materials.

Qualifications

• Two years of college (48 semester hours) or two years of early childhood experience.
• Experience working with students.
• Ability to work with parents, students and staff.
• Experience handling confidential records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor and assist children in reading skills kindergarten through third grade.
• Engage in one-on-one or small group literacy activities.
• Follow lesson plans to support reading needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify literacy needs and set goals.
• Maintain and submit progress records for students.
• Assist teachers with data collection and analysis.
• Collaborate with district and school staff to plan programs.
• Assist students using literacy software and materials.
• Perform other literacy-related duties as assigned.
