Job summary

Hooper Elementary is seeking a Part-Time Literacy Aide to provide targeted reading interventions for K-3 students. The role supports teachers, maintains data on Individualized Reading Plans, and helps update plans with timely progress information.

The Literacy Aide works 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours/week) during the 180-day calendar, with training in Science of Reading and data-driven instruction to ensure grade-level proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead evidence-based reading interventions under the Science of Reading framework for students in grades K-3.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and literacy coach to ensure fidelity and alignment with Individualized Reading Plans.
• Assist with literacy building activities and strategies.
• Help develop aide schedules in coordination with administrators.
• Undergo ongoing Science of Reading training to maintain current best practice.
