Job summary

Huron Valley School district is seeking a Literacy Paraeducator to work with identified students at Oxbow Elementary under the direction of the EIS/Literacy Coach and classroom teacher.

The position requires an Associate's Degree or 60 hours of college credit (or a successful ETS ParaPro score), strong communication, and record-keeping abilities. It is a part-time role, 21 hours per week, with a starting date ASAP and a salary range of $15.25 to $17.90 per hour.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must meet State and Federal Program requirements for Highly Qualified (Associate's Degree, 60 hours, OR successful score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment).
• Previous literacy para is preferred.
• Experience working with students who are academically at risk.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EIS/Literacy Coach and classroom teacher with identified children as required by the program curriculum.
• Keep accurate records on activities with students as required by program guidelines.
• Attend regularly scheduled in-service sessions and staff meetings as requested.
