Job summary

Maricopa County's Office of the School Superintendent seeks a Learning Acceleration Field Specialist to work with instructional coaches, teachers, and school leaders across multiple sites to strengthen Grades 4-6 literacy instruction.

Working within a Student-Centred Coaching model, the LAFS co-plans, co-teaches, and provides real-time student support in Tier 1 instruction, while delivering professional learning on Science of Reading and Structured Literacy.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in education program implementation and administration, with successful teaching experience that includes literacy instruction.
• Master’s Degree in Education.
• An equivalent combination of education and related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor implementation of student-centered coaching and literacy learning acceleration across sites.
• Design and deliver professional learning aligned to the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy.
• Develop training materials and implementation tools, manage performance and provide feedback to coaches.
• Support instructional coaches and school leaders in strengthening Tier 1 literacy instruction.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams to monitor progress and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Collect and evaluate data to assist in needs assessment and progress monitoring.
• Influence school-wide literacy acceleration plan implementation.
