Job summary

Uintah School District in Naples, UT, is seeking a Literacy Aide at Naples Elementary to support struggling readers and reinforce classroom instruction. This is a voucher position offering up to 29.5 hours per week with no benefits.

You will assist with data collection, help create flexible learning activities, and work cooperatively with staff, students, and families. A High School Diploma is required; college credits or ParaPro testing are expected per district policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate's degree or 48 college credit hours, or ParaPro test.
• Experience with at-risk students preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the education of assigned students.
• Create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth.
• Relate positively with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Assist with data collection.
• Assist with recess and/or bus duty as needed.
• Work cooperatively with staff to insure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administrator.

Education

High School Diploma

Associate's degree or 48 semester hours

ParaPro test or willingness to pass

Experience with at-risk students preferred

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma;
• Experience working with at-risk students preferred but not mandatory;
• Must hold Associate's degree or have 48 semester hours of college credit OR must have passed or be willing to pass the ParaPro test immediately upon hire.
