Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure across global data center operations. The role requires independence in diagnosing complex issues and delivering scalable solutions for our enterprise and AI customers.

You will work across systems, applications, and networking to maintain secure environments, support upgrades, and enable platform expansion.

Qualifikationen

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Experience applying systems-level troubleshooting and analysis to resolve non-routine technical issues.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
• Experience with virtualization, networking, or software development is a plus.
• Hands-on experience configuring and supporting: Web servers, Databases and caching solutions, Firewalls.
• Demonstrated understanding of: Linux utilities, server/app architecture, security hardening, Ceph, virtualization, load balancing, core networking.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Aufgaben

• Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure changes to support scalability and reliability.
• Administer and maintain Linux servers and services, diagnosing performance, stability, or security issues.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for Linux-related issues and remediation strategies.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to design and support new data center deployments.
• Perform application and system migrations, evaluating dependencies and risks.
• Monitor system performance and security posture, ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and diagrams to support scaling.
